About

I’m a PhD candidate in the CUNY Graduate Center’s Linguistics department.  Before enrolling at CUNY, I studied French and Anthropology at Hamilton College and then went on to get my MA in linguistics from Boston University.  I spent my third year of college studying in Paris, where my French got very good, only to mostly disappear the moment I arrived back in the United States.

My research focuses on style, variation, and identity-building on the Internet, currently focusing on how feminist identity is performed on Twitter.

In my spare time, I enjoy baking, crossword puzzles, movies, and people-watching.
